Wang, Tao is currently an research professor in the School of Computer Science, Peking University. He is an IEEE senior member and CCF senior member. He received B.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Peking University in 1999 and 2006, respectively. From 2006 to 2008, he worked as a Post-Doc researcher at Intel China Lab. He continued to work as a Staff Research Scientist afterwards. During his stay at Intel, he proposed a new project on reconfigurable architecture and led a team on the project. He received the award of “2008 Intel China Employee of the Year,” the highest individual award at Intel China. He joined Peking University as a faculty member in Nov. 2010 (the Executive Director of the Center for Energy-Efficient and Applications at PKU from December 2010 to August 2016). He has proposed a novel architecture and a software/hardware open-source platform for the wireless networking systems. The architecture and the open-source platform have been used at several major universities in China and in U.S. He has co-authored 50+ research papers, including top-conferences such as ISCA, MICRO, HPCA, MobiCom, and MobiSys, and premier journals including IEEE TC, IEEE TMC, and IEEE TWC. He has also received many research funding supports from premier funding agencies. He has served as a TPC member on multiple international conferences. He is currently serving on the CCF (China Computer Federation) Awards Committee. He is also on the editorial board of “China Communications” and is the Leader of the Talent Development Working Group, Green Computing Consortium (China).
