Welcome! Fall 2025 International Students
In September 1, 2025, the School of Computer Science welcomed 22 new international graduate students from 11 countries and regions, including the United States, Canada, Sweden, Germany, Brazil, Greece, Malaysia, South Korea, Indonesia, Myanmar, and Iran. They come from prestigious universities such as UCLA, UC Berkeley, the University of Pennsylvania, Ohio State University, the University of Toronto, the University of Waterloo, the Technical University of Munich, University College London, and the University of Warwick. This diverse and talented cohort enriches the School’s international community and academic excellence.

The School held an opening ceremony the following day, followed by a dormitory visit from Vice Dean Professor Guo Yao and staff, giving students a warm welcome and a chance to share their excitement about starting at PKU.

On September 3, a comprehensive orientation session was held for the new international students. Staff from the Academic Affairs Office provided detailed guidance on the curriculum structure, degree requirements, and key academic policies. The session offered an invaluable opportunity for students to ask questions, clarify doubts, and gain the information needed to navigate their studies successfully.

To further support the transition into academic and campus life, the School hosted a welcoming gathering on September 15. Three senior students from Russia, Bahrain, and Malaysia delivered engaging presentations, sharing their experiences with research, coursework, campus activities, personal interests, and practical tips for daily life in China. The session sparked lively interaction, with new students actively participating in discussions and gaining valuable insights.

Vice Dean Professor Zhou Minghui delivered a keynote address, encouraging students to support one another, collaborate, and make full use of PKU’s extensive academic resources.

With their arrival, the School now hosts 50 international students and looks forward to organizing more engaging events throughout the semester to foster a truly global and collaborative learning environment.
