WANG TENGJIAO, Distinguished Boya Professor at Peking University, Professor at the School of Computer Science, Director of the Research Center for Computational Social Science at Peking University, Dean of the Institute of Computational Social Science at Peking University (Qingdao), and Chair of the Data and Intelligence Committee, China Software Industry Association.

He has long dedicated himself to AI R&D, having published more than 100 papers in prestigious international journals and conferences such as Nature Climate Change, ACM SIGMOD, SIGKDD, IJCAI, AAAI, ACL, VLDB, ICDE and TKDE. His research outcomes have been adopted by Microsoft for the development of its cloud database products.

Professor Wang stands as a leading pioneer of computational social science in China.

Backed by Peking University, Professor Wang spearheaded the founding of the University’s Center for Computational Social Science and the Institute of Computational Social Science (Qingdao) starting from 2018. His academic pursuits center on frontier interdisciplinary research bridging AI and social sciences, aiming to deploy independently developed AI systems to fuel social and economic progress. His team has earned the title of Outstanding Teaching Team of Peking University and secured the First Prize of the University Teaching Achievement Award.

His research team has established long-standing partnerships with State Grid, China Mobile, China National Petroleum Corporation, Hong Kong LSCM, Microsoft, IBM and top-tier AI firms. The self-developed systems have been extensively applied across core fields such as smart grid, mobile communication, intelligent finance and smart healthcare.
